St Johnstone go into the last weekend before the split knowing they require a favour from Hamilton in order to finish in the top 6 towards the business end of the season.

Irrespective, would St Johnstone fans have some silverware over a top 6 finish? 100%!

Indeed, after receiving success, fans would crave more & so would Callum Davidson & players but St Johnstone have been in the bottom half of the table for the last 5 seasons & would definitely be a big cherry on a big cake if St Johnstone were to accomplish top 6 football this term.

The Perth side would have to go back to season 2016-17, a season in which they finished only 9 points behind Rangers & 12 clear of Hearts.

Do St Johnstone have the capabilities of top 6 football? Undoubtedly but the McDermaid Park outfit live within their means & don’t go overboard. During the last decade, St Johnstone have been more successful then teams with bigger budgets which deserves immense praise.

St Johnstone are also on a consistent run of form with only the Old Firm defeating the Perth outfit since the calendar year begun which is a tremendous feat within itself.

Davidson himself is finding his feet as a manager having served assistant manager roles beforehand including being the assistant that lifted the Scottish Cup beating Dundee United 2-0 at Celtic Park back in 2014

This Saturday, St Johnstone host Ross County to McDermaid Park & the pressure is off for this weekend, yes the objective will be 3 points but Saints understand it’s outwith their control on Saturday knowing they are reliant in Lanarkshire.

What is the possible scenarios of top 6 football for St Johnstone?

Hamilton draw with St Mirren & St Johnstone beat Ross County, Hamilton beat St Mirren & St Johnstone beat Ross County. Draw or defeat won’t be good enough for Saints.

Callum Davidson has enjoyed a chilled drive this season so far despite the pandemic we are currently living in, just one more push required to give St Johnstone the perfect season – top 6 football.
