A week to forget for Hearts, Inverness 4 wins on the bounce, Dundee win 5 goal thriller, Alloa & Ayr pick up a point, Raith lead the way before Fife derby.
It’s been another exciting weekend in the Scottish Championship, Queen Of The South rescued themselves from 2 defeats on the trot with a great 3-2 win away to Championship leaders Hearts.
A Connor Shields double put Queens 2-0 up before Hearts reduced the deficit thanks to Mihai Popescu. Armand Gnanduillet got back on the goal trail for the hosts but an Andy Irving own goal ensured QOTS went back to Dumfries with all 3 points.
Dundee & Dunfermline served up a 5 goal thriller at Dens Park, Kevin O’Hara & Craig Wighton put the Pars 2-0 up before Jason Cummings pulled one back with a tap-in. Danny Mullen equalised on 54 minutes before Lee Ashcroft bagged the winner from a Paul McGowan corner.
A late Jamie Gullan winner was enough for Raith Rovers to lead the way over Dunfermline prior to the Fife derby tomorrow night.
Inverness are sniffing in behind the play-off push & a Nikolay Todorov winner was enough for Neil McCann to get his 4th win on the bounce.
Alloa Athletic & Ayr United drew 2-2 with news coming out that Ayr forward Cammy Smith is departing for a new chapter in America.
It was indeed Smith who assisted the opener with Tom Walsh scoring the opener. Innes Cameron levelled for the Wasps before an audacious effort by Lucas Williamson found the top right corner. Williamson’s goal deserved to win any game but a Jon Robertson own goal ensured a share of the spoils.
